BIGFOOT 50x50 Day 2, 2023: “The Last Ride”

2023 would mark the fifth year for Team BIGFOOT and Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live. The year would start off with newcomer Cody Smith in Midwest Madness 15 and Eric Steinberg in Gunkster 19 working the stateside tour, while Darron and Rebecca Schnell worked overseas with Gunkster 21 and Midwest Madness 18, respectively.

On June 9th, Bob Brown and Eric Steinberg would take BIGFOOT 1 and Midwest Madness 19 to Norwalk, Ohio for the third annual Mickey Thompson NMRA Ford Homecoming at Summit Motorsports Park. Eric would fly and crush as expected, but even Bob got in on the action, parking BIGFOOT 1's front tires on the set of crush cars.

A month later, BIGFOOT HQ would host possibly their BIGGEST Open House to that point. While old and new school monster trucks were in abundance, one in particular stole the show. After working with his dream team of former BIGFOOT personnel and restoration experts over the prior years, owner Fred Reep would bring the fully restored BIGFOOT 4 home. Resplendent in all its blue, bricknose, racer-racer striped glory.

The open house was also the chance to see another legend, this time taking their final bow. It was time for BIGFOOT's greatest showman and trendsetter, Jim Kramer, to take his last ride. Jim would suit up, strap in, and show us all one last time why he was the man. Attacking the cars, wheeling around, and airing out BIGFOOT 21 like the Jim we all know.

In the beginning of October, BIGFOOTs 1, 8, and Firestone 20 would begin their limited residency at the Savoy Automobile Museum in Cartersville, Georgia along with one of the original Ford BIGFOOT Cruisers. On October 7th, The brand-new BIGFOOT 23 would make its debut at the T-Mobile Arena in Kansas City, Missouri on the Hot Wheels tour. Clad in a fresh Gunkster body, with Darron Schnell behind the wheel, the duo started off just right scoring an event win.
