1987 Bigfoot Cruiser Street Truck
The short-lived 1987 Bigfoot Cruiser street trucks were the subject of safety recalls which took many of them off the road, hence why there aren't many left today.
The recall including replacing the bumpers, bed cover, lift kit, wheels and tires and some dealers even removed the decals and roll bars. The NHTSA wanted the recall done because the trucks weren’t crash tested with all the add-ons and apparently there was some accidents with the trucks. There was also a recall for the lug nuts loosening up on the trucks, and brake hoses being rubbed through. Issues with the cruise control also led to some engine fires.

In 1987, Ford partnered with Bigfoot to create 3 special edition models - the Ranger, F-150 and F-250.
The Bigfoot Cruiser was produced by Scherer Truck Equipment and started out as a Dark Shadow Blue 1987 XLT Ford Truck. The trucks were then fitted with the following items:
- Westin chrome roll bar with (5) KC lights
- Westin Chrome rear drop bumper
- Warn Enforcer winch bumper with Warn winch (Ford F-250 trucks)
- Bestop tonneau cover (Ford full size trucks)
- Sharpline converting Bigfoot Cruiser decal package
- C.R. Laurence power back window
- Monroe shocks
- Weld aluminum wheels
- BF Goodrich All Terrain Tires
Production of these trucks ran from December 1986 to June 1987. In all up to 1,200 Bigfoot Cruisers may have been built, although no records exist to confirm actual numbers produced. Production included Rangers, F150s and F250s.
The Ford Rangers were available as a Standard Cab or Supercab 4x4 and came with a 2.9 Liter V-6, an A4LD automatic transmission, and Borg-Warner 1350 manual transfer case. The axles are Dana 28 front and Ford 7.5-inch rear with a 3.73 gear ratio. The Ranger featured special striping package, 15-inch factory aluminum rims, cruise control, A/C, Westin chrome roll bar, 5-100 watt KC lights, power windows, and a power rear window that slid up and down.

The F-150 was available on the XLT Lariat Regular Cab 4x4 vehicle and had a choice of two power plant / drivetrain combos:
- F-150 (5.0L Windsor V8): 185 hp and 270 lb-ft torque (4-speed manual).
- F-150 (5.7L HO Windsor V8): 210 hp (automatic transmission).
The F-250 was available with the XLT Lariat Regular Cab 4x4 Heavy Duty base vehicle and was powered by a 7.5L 460ci EFI V8 engine with 4-speed manual or C6 3-speed automatic. Inside, it either had leather seats but mostly Regatta Blue cloth upholstery, power windows, power door locks, tilt steering column, leather-wrapped steering wheel, AM/FM radio/cassette, factory floor mats and wood grain on the dashboard.
Other features include power brakes, power steering, air conditioning, and dual fuel tanks.
Additional features include running lights on top of double roll bars with cool logo covers. The back window has an interesting feature in the way it rolls down.
According to Vanguard motor sales, the original has stickers on the sides that are a beautiful addition. Rocker panels are located just below the doors, where they should be. The Bigfoot Cruiser has 460hp, making this vehicle an intimidating monster on the road.
