Bigfoot 20

Built by Bigfoot in 2012 as the first ever electric monster truck.

Still owned and operated by Bigfoot.

BIGFOOT #20 is the world’s first electric monster truck.  It carries a custom-designed battery-powered electric motor, which was built by Dennis Berube to wield high-horsepower and high-RPM capabilities. Three banks of 10 ODYSSEY® batteries (30 total for propulsion) power the motor for a total of 360 Volts. The additional 6 batteries power the brakes and steering systems. Other custom features include on-board battery chargers and a variable-speed programmable speed controller.

Each of the 36 PC1200 batteries that power the BIGFOOT #20 weighs 38 pounds, but provides 1,200 five-second pulse hot cranking amps (PHCA), as well as 540 cold-cranking amps (CCA), 78 minutes of reserve capacity and 400 cycles of deep cycle capability at 80 percent depth of discharge (DOD).

BIGFOOT 20 made its public debut on October 30, 2012 at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV.  On November 8th, 2012, it crushed cars for the first time (video below) in the parking lot of the former BIGFOOT 4x4, Inc. facility in Hazelwood, MO.  #20 has been used for various special events and is particularly good for use with people who have special needs or have hearing issues, as it does not make any loud sounds.  Currently BIGFOOT 20 does select special events across the U.S.
