On April 19th 1991, the BIGFOOT team debuted the first 3-D character-bodied monster truck, “Snake Bite®”. Snake Bite featured a custom fiberglass front end that was shaped to look like a menacing snake. This afforded the BIGFOOT team the opportunity to campaign multiple vehicles at an event without using two identical-looking vehicles. The fanged monster also proved to be a merchandising powerhouse. Since the inception of Snake Bite, dozens of monster truck teams have copied the idea and developed 3-D bodies of their own.

In 2026, Snakebite celebrates their 35th Anniversary!

Red, Yellow, and Green (1991–1995): The original 3D snake body featured a primary red color scheme with yellow and green venomous snake markings, fangs, and a scaled pattern.

Green Primary (1996–2003): The truck received a major redesign that shifted the primary body color to green while retaining its signature fanged 3D snake features. There was a change to the green paint scheme in 2000 to freshen it up.

Red Return (2004–2008): The truck returned to a primary red-based color scheme, slightly darker red than before.

Red, Black, and Silver (2009–2015): A modern paint scheme debuted featuring a sharp combination of red, black, and silver graphics.

In 2016, for Snakebite's 25th anniversary, two new schemes were created on trophy truck-based bodies. One was similar to the original red scheme and the other, known as 'Black Mamba' was black and green.

From 2018 to 2022, a green scheme returned but with a yellow flash added to the sides.

In 2024, Fred Reep unveiled his newly restored Bigfoot 4 with a red Snakebite scheme at the Bigfoot Open House event. 

In 2026, an additional purple and green paint scheme was created for the 35th anniversary. It appeared at the 2026 Bigfoot Open House event and one special Hot Wheels Monster Trucks live show at the Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho.
