BIGFOOT 50x50 Day 31, 1994: “Exodus”
For BIGFOOT, 1994 would start off like any other year for the past ten. BIGFOOT 14 would debut at the Superdome in New Orleans on January 29. In February, the flaming hot BIGFOOT Power Wheels paint scheme would formally debut on BIGFOOT 10 after being teased at the 93 Indy Jamboree. Power Wheels was the first sponsor branded paint scheme for a BIGFOOT truck.
The year would also see Team BIGFOOT continue working dates for USA Motorsports and USHRA. Eric Meager, Gene Patterson, Lonny Childress, and Eric Tack would take turns rotating various BIGFOOT and Snake Bite bodies. 1994 would also be the end of the line for BIGFOOT 6. After eight years of service, 6 was sold to an English promoter after wrapping up a tour of Thailand.
The PENDA Points Series would begin in Lima, Ohio at the Allen County Fairgrounds. Andy Brass would be in BIGFOOT 11, debuting the new Cruiser scheme. Dan Runte would be in the new Power Wheels 14, and Colt Cobra would return with Snake Bite, utilizing BIGFOOT 10’s chassis.
Team BIGFOOT would continue their sheer dominance of the PENDA series, with someone on the team winning eleven of the thirteen events. Springfield would feature all three drivers winning all three races, but Canfield would see all three win all FOUR with Dan taking the points lead from Andy. In what would prove to be Andy’s swan song, he took the lead back in Indy, and then won his last race and last championship, his fourth, as a monster truck driver and Team BIGFOOT member.
